The League announced that there will now be gender-specific recognition for individual participants at the USAHSCTL National Championship, held in Mason, Michigan July 6th-10th. Previous events have awarded ‘National Champion’ through tenth place in the individual event, without male or female-specific categories.
Beginning this year, the League will award first through tenth places in male and female categories, with the ‘National Champion’ award remaining gender-neutral. The changes provide 11 new awards to participants in the National Championship.
“This change brings our National Championship inline with all other League events.” John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League said. “League State Tournaments and Championships across the country offer recognition to male and female athletes, and it makes sense to align the National Championship to that standard.”
