1) Shooting performance requirements determined by the regular season’s overall average, AND
2) Extracurricular activity participation eligibility requirements as determined by their school.
The National Championship serves to recognize and honor the best student athletes participating in the USA High School Clay Target League. Therefore the highest individual and team scoring averages will receive priority registration privileges:
Individuals: Based on season scoring average (see below for priority registration dates and minimum average requirements). Student athletes are required to participate in all competition weeks to qualify. Maximum quantity: 1,400 individuals
Team: (one squad per team) each team member’s season scoring average must meet the minimum average (see below for priority registration dates and minimum average requirements). Maximum quantity: 280 teams
Season averages completed May 26, 2018. Registration begins May 27, 2018.
Priority registration: Highest competition season averages (and those that follow) receive priority registration access for a limited time.
All qualifying registrations are first-come, first-served until participation limit is achieved.
Registration priority will be determined by season average for individuals and by season average for each member of a team’s squad.
A team will require a minimum of five student athletes that meet the minimum season average requirements to register a squad. Two alternates are allowed. Alternates do not need to meet the season average requirements for team qualifications. Only one squad per team can register. Alternates for teams may replace a squad member at anytime before a session begins.
All qualifying registrations are first-come, first-served until the participation limit is achieved.
All qualifying scores, notices, and registration will be conducted through the League’s Team Management System. Coaches can only register qualified student athletes from pre-qualified list in TMS.
The registration fee for each event (Individual and Team) is $75 per student athlete. Fees must be paid at registration. Registration fee includes all competition targets and official National Championship t-shirt, drawstring backpack, participation pin, and certificate.
